Helping Pets & People in Douglas County GA

Spay/Neuter Assistance | Heartworm Treatment Assistance | Community Pet Food Pantry

How DCHS Serves the Pets & People of Douglas County

  • Spay and Neuter Fund

DCHS is pleased to partner with West Georgia Spay Neuter Clinic. To assist Douglas County residents, DCHS will pay directly to WGSNC a portion of the cost to spay or neuter your pet. We also assist with funding to ensure animals adopted from Douglas County Animal Services are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

  • Pet Food Pantry

Our goal is to provide temporary pet food assistance to families struggling in this economy to keep their pets. Our pets are vital family members and no one should have to face surrendering their pet due to lack of food. The Pet Pantry helps keep many, many animals away from being sent to rescues or abandoned.

  • Heartworm Treatment Assistance

Don’t be afraid of heartworm positive pets! Adopt your best friend from the Douglas County Animal Shelter and we will help you cover some of the cost of the heartworm treatment. We work directly with your vet to help offset some of the cost of treatment. Don’t leave them behind. Give them a chance.

The Douglas County Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on enriching the lives of our community members and their companion animals through educational programs, services, and community engagement. In support of our mission, our work will always center on compassionate care for all animals. While we are not a shelter, nor do we operate one, we collaborate with local animal shelters and licensed animal rescue organizations to save homeless animals and provide the care they need to live happy and healthy lives.

We want to help as many animals as we can. We can always use volunteers and donations.
