Heartworm Treatment
Assistance

All dogs deserve a chance at a happy, healthy and heartworm-free life! If you adopt a heartworm positive companion from the Douglas County Animal Shelter, we can assist with the cost of heartworm treatment.

Ask the shelter for information. Don’t pass your new furry friend by. A heartworm positive test is not a death sentence. Dogs live long, happy lives after the appropriate treatment.

Following are the guidelines to receive help.

  1. Contact DCHS at info@dchsociety.com or leave a voice mail and your call will be returned.

  2. DCHS refers you to WGSNC.
